Why don't we all write to Obama at president@messages.whitehouse.gov :
Mr Obama, there was report in the Indian press under the caption 'Indian can be model for world for food security: Obama'. I am surprised/shocked that the the Presdent of the United States of America seem to be ignorant of what food security means and the ground realities in India where food rots in the government godowns while people are dying of starvation.
Yours truly

How this capitlaist agwnt Obamama is making false praises? He knows very well that India has only 1500 sq yard land per peron for culktivation. In this small plot it is impossible to grwon all agro needs of peoiple in india. It is thus clear that almost 60% people are not getting anything. In this situation he falsely praises Indians for his own busienss interests.Where is food security in india? Does he know that 30 % items are adulterated inclduing milk and that is why prodcuts are availbale. And what will happen after 10 years when 15 crore more pople will add.Land cant increase in India. It is beinfgrecued by capturing by Chgina and converting it into malls and fradulent industrial areas set up for computer coolies. It is shameful!Moderator_________
Chinmoy Rajpal's comments:Has anyone told him about the foodgrains that rot due to the lack of infrastructure and Indian government's high-handedness towards securing the basic right of an Indian citizen to getting foodgrains through PDS? Also, did anyone tell him about the Supreme Court's remarks to the government on the rotting foodgrains? If this is the model that Obama is talking about then god save this world. We will have more and more malnutritioned kids the world over. What about the food security of these unfortunate kids who die due to hunger in the very same India? Please someone illuminate Mr. Obama with some of these very basic facts. Does he have anything else apart from going to Taj? Can he visit/meet those families who have been affected by the bomb blasts in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Assam, violence in Kashmir (including the ill-treatment of Kashmiri pandits), other parts of Mumbai? When our own politicians do nothing about this then why should we expect anything from the Presidents / Prime Ministers of other countries? Can we help ourselves than focusing on wasting money by hosting these non-events?My comments:I agree wholeheartedly with Rajpal's comments.Satbir Singh BediPlease refer to the following news item in the Times of India:"Indian can be model for world for food security: Obama
PTI, Nov 7, 2010, 03.55pm ISTMUMBAI: US President Barack Obama on Sunday evinced interest in furthering cooperation in the field of agriculture, saying India can be a model the world that strives for food security.
The collaboration between the two countries also contributed to India's first green revolution in the 60s, he said, adding: "I will be discussing with prime minister (Manmohan) Singh, how we can advance the cooperation in the 21st century, not only to benefit India, but to benefit the US and the world."
He shared his experiences about Indian agriculture with students at the St Xaviers College here, after visiting two expos and interacting with villagers.
"I was with two expos that underscores the partnership we can make together. The first is focused on agriculture and food security, that they will see innovation in technology and research that has transformed the Indian farming," he said.
Obama narrated how a farmer told him about receiving crop information on cellphone, while another showed him tools of appropriate size and weight help women to improve productivity and said many of these innovations were a result of public and private collaboration between US and India.
In March 2010, India and the US had signed an MoU to cooperate in agriculture and food security"
