Mumbai, December 1: Activists in the city are demanding that the people involved in the Adarsh Society scam be charged under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act. The activists are planning a protest at Azad Maidan later this month against the government's inaction. They have even prepared banners that call for action against politicians and bureaucrats. "Evidence against the culprits is being destroyed. It is time for citizens to act and ensure that no more important documents go missing," said G R Vora, an RTI activist.

In an online letter, the activists said, "Everyday, we read with growing concern that documentary evidence of the Adarsh scam is being wiped out. Everybody knows what the crime is, and who the criminals are, and yet no FIR is registered and no arrests are carried out."
Activists asked for people's support through online petitions.
