[rti4empowerment] RTI about Allahabad High Court Judges

Friends,

As we know that the Supreme Court has openly made some very adverse comments about some of the Judges of the Allahabad High Court (both the Allahabad and Lucknow bench) in the landmark and path-breaking judgement dated 26/10/2010 in Civil Appellate Jurisdiction in Special Leave Petition(Civil) NO. 31797 of 2010 Raza Khan versus UP. Sunni Central Waqf Board & another.

Based on on the above judgement, and otherwise on the basis of the Supreme Court records, I have asked a few information from the Public Information Officer of the Supreme Court of India under the Right to Information Act. These are about how many complaints have come against the Judges of the Allahabad High Court (both the Allahabad and Lucknow bench) from 1st January 2005 to 28th November 2010, the details of each of these complaints, including the name of the Judge, the date of receiving of the complaint, the name and address of the complainant, the key facts of the complaint etc, the details of the action taken in each of these complaints, including facts like what steps were taken in each of these complaints, who was assigned the enquiry, what was found in these enquiries and what actions were finally taken on the basis of each of these enquiry reports. I have also asked for the photocopy of all such complaints related with Judges and the photocopy of the enquiry reports.

To us it seems that judicial propriety being a matter of utmost importance, all possible steps must be taken as an aftermath to cleanse judiciary of all such "black sheep" and "uncle judges" as have been specifically mentioned by the Supreme Court in the above decision. We all need to come together to pursue this case to help being it to its "logical and legal culmination".
