Dear members
Janshakti in not a political forum basically.Neither we are a political organization. We are not interested in such issues as Kashmir as far as it is a political issue.
Our focus is on equity, justice and development in country.Of course we have another two important areas- Human rights violations, and women & child development and protection.
We are religion neutral. We are not interested in discussing strength and weaknesses and various aspects of any religion. We should enter this area only to the extent it impinges upon our forum objectives. For example we as social forum are concerned with dignity ,freedom and development of women and child. All women irrespective of religion. In fact we consider humanity as biggest religion of the universe.Because religions are for men and not the other way. This is as eternal a truth and as infallible as the name of God or Allah.
Members are requested to please not post political articles, religious criticism outside scope of forum objectives and news items.Because news items are read by our members any way. They should post analysis on that instead to be published here.
Members are once again requested to kindly follow posting guide and turn towards forum goals( see home page of our yahoo group) and help achievement of these. We neither have any interest nor any base for political changes in country.
Thank you

[rti4empowerment] Re: [Janshakti] No matter relating to separatist demands to be discussed here
Dear Mr Rajendrakumar
Well said. Having said that, one doubt: being a democratic society our engine for change is politics. In other words we can bring in necessary changes ONLY by influencing the political decision makers. The million dollar question is HOW?
I still believe, based on simple rational analysis, that, of the three organs of the Constitution, the political organ is the best. Of all the people constituting the three organs, the law maker, politician, is the only one who atleast once a couple of years actually comes to the people and presents a balance sheet to him. It is for the people to evaluate their candidate objectively and choose the right one. However, even after being elected, the fact remains that NO politician can swindle public resources without the active support of a bureaucrat. Then there is the media always on the prowl looking for news to slander the politicians. And ultimately the politician can always be hauled up before a court by any citizen.
The bureaucrat, the behind the scene player is actually the real power broker. But twisting facts and laws he can actually make the politician a puppet. But officially atleast he is supervised by the politician, the media and also the courts!
Coming to the courts, once a judge, the person enjoys a lot of immunity. In the case of higher judiciary it goes to the preposterous extent of absolute immunity! I need not highlight this further as the media is so full of reports about the crimes committed by judges (Dinakaran, Soumitra Sen etc) and the existing system looking helplessly on! The provision of impeachment is a fraud. It is as good as promising free medical aid if the patient can be transported to the moon! Nowhere is the truism in the saying 'power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely' more evident than in our judiciary.
The recent allegations by the father-son duo of advocates, Santhi Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan weren't any revelation for those who have experienced the ways of our judicary first hand. In fact even when they stated that 8 of the 16 Chief Justices of India, preceding K G Balakrishnan, were corrupt, we know how KGB subverted the very first, and as on date the only pro-democracy law of the land- the Right to Information Act. His very illegal claim that the office of the CJI is out of purview of the Act should have shown him up to be either so incompetant to be even a munsif in our judicial system or so anti-national as to be awarded the capital punishment, if possible to be executed in public, as a lesson to the other traitors in offices of authority. But look at where he is now- a post retirement job as the Chairman of the NHRC, another wasteful office, as far as the tax payer is concerned! And, as I understand it, the parliament is proposing a change in the RTI Act to exempt judges from the purview of the Act! Doesn't it look like a Catch 22 situation?
So what do we do? Pray that maoists choose their targets correctly whenever they strike?
regards n bw
