Hello,

Ready mix cement concrete truck contractors, operators, drivers, think they own the roads of Mumbai, like do most HCV, BEST bus, contract and school bus, and other such indisciplined drivers.

These three trucks were blocking  South bound S V Road between Nanavati Hospital and LIC Complex, on 2011 JUL 08, at around two pm, when traffic was badly affected by the heavy rains.

Truly unfortunate that till such drivers are given their rightful place by compounding them strictly, there is no hope for decongesting our traffic.

Its really not difficult to give the strictest no nonsense orders to all such drivers that such driving and blatant and flagrant violation of traffic rules will not be tolerated.

However, in the present circumstances, India, Mumbai, will be wasting thousands of productive man hours trying to get past these huge HCV obstructing the free and smooth flow of vehicles, which clearly adversely affect pedestrian safety as well.

Really wonder when the authorities will make life simpler for the public.

Thanqx.

Hello,

No improvement in six months.

Drivers of RMC mixers of all companies are simply indisciplined and have no concern for pedestrian safety, traffic rules and other road users.

Most of the vehicles are not maintained, their silencers are dysfunctional, use illegal horns, tyres worn out, numbers plates not visible as they are covered with cement, etc.

Neither are the RMC corporates bothered, so long as their vehicles deliver the mix and turnaround as fast as they can.

They have to be regulated to operate between 23h00 and 07h00 only.

Hello,

Here are some photos of cement concrete mixers

01 No lights no registration number
02 Wrong lane
03 Double parked
04 Corner parking
05 Blocking traffic reversing into traffic
06 Wrong direction

Obviously, the drivers and operators think they have some unwritten license and concession.

These are the factors which lead to totally avoidable congestion, traffic jams, etc.

These heavy vehicles should only be permitted to move and operate between 23h00 and 07h00, all developers and builders should schedule their construction timings accordingly.

Dear Sir,

This is in reference to the heavy commercial vehicles operated by Relcon, ME Infraprojects, Readymix, RMC, L and T, Ultra Tech, Godrej, Simplex Infrastructure, RDC, Supreme Infrastructure,  and others, almost all over Mumbai, Brihan Mumbai, navi Mumbai, Thane, etc., and in  particular in the anrrower, non main roads, like Lallubhai Road, Andheri West, for example.

The drivers are indisciplined, some of them appear to be under age, and drive the large vehicles, such as cement concrete mixers, sixteen wheel trailers, multi axle dumpers,  etc., as if they have a special concession and license to use the roads as if they are their own.

If they have a blanket license to drive and operate as they please, then, this is withdrawn.

Driving rashly, dangerously, arrogantly,  on the wrong side, double parking, reversing against traffic, corner parking, occupying footpaths and entrance gates, etc., are the usual violations, and have no fear of compounding.

Not to mention the noise and air pollution generated by the mixer, the pumps, which are on for hours on end, with the exhaust fumes being acculumated in the area.

So much so, that one gentleman, maybe a despatcher for Relcon or the transport contract supervisor, a crude and rude fellow named Mayur, mobile number, +91 99 3030 6017, told me, do what you want, and call any one you want, when our drivers crush some body, that time we will see.

This is the state of affairs, no discipline, no enforcement.

I will send photographs and videos subsequently, as they are being processed.

Mean time, this is to request you to take immediate and effective action, especially now that as per DCP, Traffic, notofication of 2009 OCT 27, the Lallubhai Park area, Azad Lane, Andheri West,  is no entry for HCV, HMV for all twenty four hours.

Kindly clarify as to how this will be managed.
