As AG has no powers to prosecute , 99.99% of its findings result in nothing , just lie around stacking up government cupboards . Had AG been independent & with a bite as in UK , from where our parliamentary model is derived , we would not have seen the rot we see today.
If the government wants a "reasonable" Lok Pal Bill it needs to close all the loop holes it has created to help crooks get away .
We studied all the major Constitutions of the well functioning democratic countries & came up with one that has all the checks on law that the crooks need to get away & nothing to balance the citizen's interest .
A full train was hired for Nehru's private visit , the state of TN paid for it . When the AG pointed it out, Nehru paid from his own pocked & commended the AG . Grandson Rajiv partied in Lacadives with a plane load of relatives & friends on the new year on our tax money . The AGs objections were brushed aside . How could such a haughty person brought up in "Mai-baap environment" , believing in the Orwellian adage " some are more equal than others" get to the root of what is really killing the poor here .
The story of the rot in India is the story of the lowering ethics & the deceptive politics of ruling by "speeches & sloganeering without any substance " of the Nehru-Gandhi family . The lip service the current Mother , Son & Sardarji triumvirate now pay to ethics , rule of law & equity is a cruel joke on us.
They are like the Gandhi's 3 monkeys , the PM can see no evil , the Son can speak no evil & the Mother can hear no evil.
The rot is full & deep . It only has to get better from here . We cant dig an even deeper pit for ourselves .
