Dear RTI Activists:
I am appending R I Singh's order declaring a charitable trust to be a public body based upon two arguments alone.
(i) That the Trust enjoys exemption under Section 80 G(5) of the Income Tax Act.
(ii) That it is entitled to exemption on payment of stamp duty on purchase of land
The order is aided by High Court Judgments.
I am forwarding for it may come handy in our drive to make charitable organizations transparent and accountable.
