Here are the reasons.
They want your fingerprints to identify you.
What will they do with it ??
Or what can they do with it ??
Fingerprint transplant technology exists
Your fingerprints can be transplanted anywhere.
So If the Government wants to get rid of you, they can accuse
you of a crime and recover your fingerprints from the same
site as evidence against you.
2) They want your iris print. Your eye print.
That way, they can confirm that its you.
Why?
In 1984 riots, many Sikhs escaped the rioting mob
by cutting off their hair or young kids loosened
their hair to look like girls.
With UID, you would be identified as a Sikh or a Muslim
(by your name) and, 1984 and Gujarat riots will seem like
a picnic then compared to the kind of loss of human life
that will occur because of UID.
In both riots, politicians were involved and they will have
access to your UID number to track your every move.

3) They are bringing in UID in a backdor method.
First, they said it was voluntary for the PDS scheme to
help the poor. Though it seems that UID is only for poor
but the way the services are being attached to UID,
it is becoming mandatory for all from the back door.
Like they have recently attached PF and hence all
service people have to have UID to maintain their
PF accounts.
Tomorrow, they will attach air tickets purchase; railway
reservation etc. to UID then it becomes mandatory for all
except the hermits living in Himalayan caves.
Voluntary tag attached to it is possibly to escape judicial
scrutiny on the grounds of fundamental rights violation.
Now, Punjab Police has made it mandatory for its personnel
to have UID under the pretext of tracking their efforts and
abuse. TMC (Thane Municipal Corporation) is making it
mandatory for contractors to have UID for undertaking
TMC contracts.
If they were clear about its use, why sneak it in?
Why not have a clear and open debate in public forums?

4) They site the reason of war against terror for UID.
As it will help to identify national citizens and foreigners.
9/11 or 26/11 are mired in government complicity in their
execution and the way some key personnel got bumped
off who were getting closer to the truth.
We can't have criminals telling us how to obey the Law.

5) There is no liability on the Government against misuse of UID.
So of their system gets hacked or your personal info falls into
the wrong hands, you can't hold the govt. responsible for it.
And we all know how "secure" Government security is.
They just want to know everything about you without telling you
anything about themselves. Just see how many RTI activists
have been killed in trying to get at the truth against the Government.

They say there is a system of checks and balances to prevent
misuse of UID info. Are they saying there were no systems of
checks and balances in all the other laws they have brought
in before??
And yet, those laws have been subverted and abused
by the same Government.

6) Its a draconian system that will make you slaves of the
Government. in fact, its against the Indian constitution too,
as there is no provision in the constitution or making such
a law compulsory without just cause.
And believe it, the Government is quite capable of
creating conditions for requiring constitutional amendment
to being in UID.
In fact, this mammoth exercise of the govt of India does not
even have legislative sanction.

Binayak Sen is arrested while Arundhati walks free even
after saying that Kashmir should be given to Pakistan.
You still trust the Government?
The BJP, the Congress, the Left, DMK, none of them have
come out against this threat to privacy and personal liberty
under the name of providing security.
Taggin it as voluntary and yet making it necessary for
PF makes it non-voluntary ... right???
It thus becomes a case for violation of fundamental rights,
and therefore invites a suit under Article 32 of the Indian
Constitution, under which the Supreme Court can always
be approached for appropriate remedy against the violation
of such rights by private individuals.
(Peoples' Union for Democratic Rights v. Union of India,
AIR 1982 SC 1473).
Also, A petitioners challenge under Article 32 extends not
only to the validity of a law but also to an executive order
issued under the authority of the law.
Now since it has being tagged as voluntary, then making
Government services like the PF as compulsorily only with
a UID. Does it still escape censure under LAW??
You can move to a high court under 226 or SC under 32
for the same
Remember, if you give up your rights for security,
you will lose both.
