Friends,
U might be remembering my narration of facts about one Sri Bijendra Yadav, who is a constable in Uttar Pradesh who has been the prime motivating factor behind formation of "Kalyan Sansthan" in Uttar Pradesh. This Kalyan Sansthan is a registered Society under the Societies Registration Act. The only difference this association has with other organizations is that the members of this association are subordinate police officers of UP Police and their family members.
As u might also be remembering, Sri Bijendra Yadav has also raised the issue of supposed misappropriation of funds by a certain association regulated by IPS officers. He has filed a writ in the Allahabad High Court where he says that crores of rupees are being deducted from the account of subordinate police officers without any legitimate authority.
Now the latest development is that yesterday Sri Yadav was arrested at Allahabad and an FIR was registered against him. As per my information the FIR was under section 353 IPC and some other minor Acts. Section 353 IPC says-
353. Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty.-- Whoever assaults or uses criminal force to any person being a public servant in the execution of his duty as such public servant, or with intent to prevent or deter that person from discharging his duty as such public servant, or in consequence of anything done or attempted to be done by such person to the lawful discharge of his duty as such public servant, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
The court granted Sri Yadav today itself and he is a free man presently. But a very large number of questions automatically emerge out of these incidents which we all need to discuss and ponder over.
I am be sending my previous mails as a ready reckoner.
