Dancer born without legs shoots to fame on India's Got Talent

Mumbai: A hip-hop dancer, who was born without legs, appearing on an Indian television reality show - India's Got Talent- has become a rage with his swift dance moves and acrobatic skills.
21-year-old Vinod Thakur shot to fame after performing on the television show India's Got Talent.
After qualifying in the first round, Thakur has been rehearsing and training for the subsequent rounds of the talent show to be recorded in Mumbai.
Hailing from a poor neighbourhood in East Delhi, Thakur was born without legs due to a birth defect.
While earning his living as a mobile phone repairer, he taught himself to dance by copying the moves from break-dance videos available on the internet.
"A lot of people used to tell me...they told my parents that he does not have legs, take care of him properly. I never thought in my life about anything that I might not be able to do or that it is beyond my capabilities, " he says.
Encouraged and supported by his friends and choreographer, Thakur hopes to impress the judges of the show with his incredible talent for hip-hop moves and flips using his bare hands for support.
His choreographer says, "We call this b boying dance, and I think he is much better than them because he does lovely stunts with his hands and moves around very beautifully."
India's Got Talent , a franchise of the original British series, runs on the entertainment channel 'Colors' and is a very popular show.
Buoyed by his success as a performer, Thakur hopes to open a dance training school for physically challenged people in future.
"The school that I will open...I will keep it free for disabled people and I will hone their skills that god has gifted them with and make a group of my own and send them back to the stage of India's Got Talent," says Thakur.
