Saudi Arabia: Man sentenced to 70 lashes for turning on Bluetooth near a women's
shopping centre
He says he didn't even know it was on. But the Commission for the Promotion of
Virtue and Prevention of Vice has to be vigilant against the mixing of the
sexes. Imagine what fun they'll have in American malls, once Sharia gains a
sufficient foothold here. Sharia Alert from the Kingdom of the Two Holy Places:
"Beware: Dangers of bluetooth in Saudi...," from Emirates 24/7, December 1
(thanks to Emad):
A Saudi man is to be lashed 70 times with the whip after he was caught using the
Bluetooth feature in his mobile phone near a women's shopping centre, the
London-based Saudi Arabic language daily Alhayat reported Wednesday.
>Members of the feared Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of
>Vice grabbed the man after suspecting him when he came close to a women's market
>in the central town of Taif, the paper said.
>They handed him over to the authorities after they checked his mobile phone and
>found that the Bluetooth option was in operation, it said.
>"He was shocked when the court in Taif sentenced him to two months in prison and
>70 lashes on charges of harassing women," it said.
>"He told court he did not know that the Bluetooth in his phone was on and that
>using it is a crime in Saudi Arabia...the court gave him 30 days to appeal."

Thank you Robert for this little stories that come out of muslim countries,
they're good reminders of how incredibly insane Islam is.
It is unfortunate news like this isn't blaring loudly from CNN, Fox and other
major media outlets. It's incredibly important that the masses get educated on
Islam, only then would we be able to defend our civilization.
The trouble right now is that so few are aware, that it's very easy for them to
be duped by our common enemy and have prominent critics like yourself be
delegitimized and falsely slandered as a hatemonger.
Islam is hell on earth for every man, woman and child on this planet and it
needs to be abolished.

Maybe he was -
1) setting up a wireless headset
2) trying to transfer a file from his laptop to his cellphone.
3) or, like he said, not even aware the Bluetooth was turned on.
But, no -
In Islam, you are guilty until proven innocent.

Lo!, the fruits of Islam. And I ain't talking about those gay looking fellows
wearing dark suits and sunglasses standing behind the good Reverend Louis
Farrakhan on stage; I'm talking about what the trees and shrubs of Islam yield,
and how it's picked.

Because Bluetooth is Haraam as opposed to
Redtooth which is Halal? (being sarcastic! :) )
Sorry I'm laughing my butt off at the idiocy that is Islam.

What exactly did they think he would do with Bluetooth? If he wanted to "harass
women", he could do that just as well with ordinary cell phone functionality. I
don't see the problem, even from a Wahabist perspective, with Bluetooth.

While I was working in Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh, I used a very neat GPS machine
in my car to get me around without getting hopelessly lost (90% of the streets
do not have signs showing street names, and those that do are always in
Arabic!). The GPS unit was also a pocket pc with Bluetooth built in. Talking to
a Saudi colleague at work one day, I mentioned that I was going to visit the
Kingdom Mall (one of the biggest in Riyadh) for some window browsing and
shopping. He knew about my GPS with Bluetooth, and said I may want to leave it
on and set it up to be able to receive anonymous messages and pictures, "as
there are many Saudi women, and young girls, who send 'good' pictures and
invitations to meet secretly." It blew my mind! I never did ever take my GPS
into a Mall, Thank God.... just think, I may be rotting in some scum-infested
rat hole of a Saudi prison even now.
