[rti4empowerment] Re: ALM meeting on 18th December 2010

Dear Ravi,

This is acknowledged.

However, as I have suggested many times, simply meeting with all concerned has absolutely no meaning unless some substantive and positive action accrues thereafter.

In fact, AC, K West. MCGM should circulate not only the minutes of meetings held, but detailed action taken reports.

Unfortunately, most meetings are only sounding boards for complaints, and vague assurances by various officers given which may or may not materialise.

And the meetings are adjourned till the next meeting which should held every third Saturday, but many times they are postponed on some pretext or other.

In effect, such ALM meetings are held once in two months, which is hardly conducive to take stock and successful resolution of pending complaints and works.

For example, representatives of Lallubhai Park Area Residents Association, LAPARA, met with the AC, K West, MCGM, Smt. B DHONGDE, Local Corporator, Shri Rajendra CHAVAN, PI, D N Nagar Traffic Chowkie, and Prabhag Samiti Chairman, in 2010 AUG, in which it was agreed and assured that Mahila Mandal Chowk, junction of SV ROad and Lallubhai Road,  will be cleared, with help of police,  of hawkers, food stalls, etc., being a non hawking zone, the area under Gokhale Bridge will be cleaned of the vagrants, the debris, the filth, and some lighting be installed, water tanker be restricted and regulated, etc.

Why is it that Citizens and residents have to keep representing to the authorities, while those who break all available rules and laws, like the illegal hawkers, have absolutely no worries or bothers about any action against them.

Because absolutely no action is visible, as can be read on the correspondence on the Initiatives link of

So much for the effectiveness of MCGM, and MP, and MTP, with all the powers and resources, not to mention, the word of gentlemen.

Also, this was sent on 2010 NOV 06 to AC, K West, MCGM.

No acknowledgement, no reply till date, what else.

Are we just living an existence or are we interested to get a bit better quality of life.

If MCGM is not going to attend to basic requirements, then why call for an ALM meetings.

Let it be the monthly get together session in which complaints are  made, and excuses given back.

Jai Hind.

Jai Maharashtra.

MCGM

Now that the Festive Seasons are over, this is to request your Office to attend to the day to day civic services in Ward K West as per mandate.

This is also to kindly request you to act on the assurances you have been giving at the ALM meetings on the third Saturdays at K West offices.

The situation is that the common Citizen feels that things have simply deteriorated altogether, and only a massive and concerted effort by K West will bring some relief to the residents of K West.

Some obvious unattended activities

01 No hawking zones of Lallubhai Park area, Andheri West station area, Vile Parle West, JVPD scheme, Lokhandwala Seven Bungalows, etc

Despite and inspite of Supreme Court orders, High Court orders, not to mention non hawking zone declared by the MCGM, there are any numbers of illegal and unauthorised hawkers proliferating and thriving.

Examples

A Junction of MM Chowk, SV Road, Lallubhai Road, illegal food stalls, and others, occupy the corners, dirty the place, wash utensils on the road, etc., are not

B Illegal food and other stalls near and around NMMIS, Mithibai, Bhaidas, etc.

C Illegal stalls on both sides of SV Road and footpath from Gokhale Bridge towards South and Amboli naka towards North

D Illegal stalls on both sides of Church Road, Seven Bungalows

E Illegal stalls, and illegal shop extensions on Irla Road, of hawkers and shops

F Illegal food and other stalls on DJ Marg, VIle Parle, and in various inner roads of Vile Parle West such as BP Vashi Road, and

All the above, apart from the illegality, cause great traffic obstacles, health hazards, garbage nuisance, etc

Your office is called upon to immediately and effectively, and permanently, clear the said encroachments and etc., from the above areas, apart from the numbers of other places.

02 The area below, near and around Gokhale flyover bridge, is in filthy, dirty, dark, unhygienic condition since years.

Superficial assurances have been given by your office to specific representations by LAPARA ALM, and others, highlighted in the media also any number of times, but this place remains in abysmal condition.

Kindly clean the place immediately.

Kindly also relocate the solid waste, garbage Clean Up ! chowkie, located on Souther end of railway platform, which creates foul smell, due to collection of MCGM garbage compactors and MCGM dumpers, affecting thousands of residents and passengers going to and returning from Andheri West station.

This also creates totally unacceptable traffic jams, and endagers pedestrians due to haphazrd movement of such vehicles.

Also, unauthorised water tankers are randomly and illegally parked near there due to two MCGM valves allowed for water tankers.

All this creates innumerable problems for all residents and passengers, pedestrians, etc.

Kindly relocate this filling point.

03 Sweeping, cleaning, collection, of solid waste in Ward K West area is not being done effectively, nor efficiently.

The same should be done with proper vigour and especially after mid night, to take care of the enormous litter generated by padyatris going to Shri Siddhi Vinayak who do not care about the environment nor the simple credo

Svachchtha Hee Vidhaatha Hai

- Aur Jo Nahin Samajhtha

- Tho Padhe Likhe Phir Bhi Anadi

- Bahar Se Aayaa Ek Khiladi

- Clean Up Our Land

Your immediate and positive action in this will be appreciated.

Thanqx.
