Islamic terror is fanning out in all directions, while Congress is impotent
against terrorism. It's a sensational news. Why does government of India spend
money to pay for Haj pilgimmage when Muslims get further radicalized in Mecca?

A city court on Friday convicted six HuJI militants for hatching conspiracy to
kidnap cricketers — Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly. Out of the six HuJI
militants, three are Indian nationals and other three are Pakistani nationals.
The court will pronounce order on sentence against the convicts on January 7,
2011.

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Pinki held Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami (HuJI)
terrorists guilty of conspiracy to kidnap Tendulkar and Ganguly in 2002,
allegedly to secure the release of their jailed accomplices. According to
prosecution, the three Pakistan-based militants, Tariq Mohammed, Arshad Khan and
Ashfaq Ahmed, had confessed their crime that they conspired to kidnap cricketers
for securing the release of two jailed HuJI terrorists Nasarullah Langrial and
Abdul Rahim, who were then lodged in jails here.

The probe agency had mentioned in its chargesheet that the plot to abduct the
cricketers did not succeed as the terrorists could not get the logistic support
to execute their plan. Besides three Pakistan-based terrorists, three Indians
terrorists — Mufti Israr, Ghulam Qadir Bhatt and Ghulam Mohammed Dar — were also
part of the conspiracy, the police said. All the militants, including key
accused Jalaluddin, who was declared a proclaimed offender during the trial, had
also planned to attack the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai and
assassinate former president APJ Abdul Kalam during his Patna visit in 2002, the
chargesheet said.

Prosecution submitted that the arrested HuJI men were working at the
instructions of their Pakistan-based masters, Asif Raza Khan, Umar Sheikh and
Azam Cheema. "The leaders wanted them to abduct Sachin Tendulkar for ransom to
raise funds for their terrorist activities. They also wanted to kidnap Saurav
Ganguly for the purpose of securing the release of their two men lodged in
jails," the prosecutor contended, while referring to the chargesheet.
