Some interesting questions raised by Amitabh Thankurji
with respect to a news item that has been posted in many
groups. IN his own words ... Here we go

Col Gaddafi's women guards and some related questions

Friends,

Though the matter had come into discussion many a times earlier also but somehow
my attention to this news Article went today only when I saw on the last page of a
Hindi daily news titled-"Amazonian guards of Libya 's rule Gaddafi."

It had some brief details about the women guards that move along with Gaddafi all
the time and whom Gaddafi has been relying upon for quite some time. The paper
also carried a few colour photographs of Col Gaddafi along with these imposing
and impressive women guards. The Internet showed that this aspect had already
been making news for the last many years. I present a few of such news links
with a few questions, that came to my mind-

  1. Isn't it true that presence of women guards instead of men guards makes
all of us take notice of this fact?
  2. Why is it that despite so much boasting of gender parity, even the
West is not able to take such a news item as being a mater of fact?
  3. Isn't Media a very important tool of warfare where selective leaking of
such news, with some intended and inherent purposes, is done?

My Comment :
Mr. Amitabhji, you have hit the nail on the head.
I guess, human race is still in cave man stage on the
spiritual maturity level.

Like a saawan ka andha, the average man can get aroused
by anything that moves in a skirt,

We still have a long way to go before we can call
ourselves a spiritually civilised people.

Forget about Gaddaffi, we have even commented

upon Gandhiji using the support of maidens to young men.

But given the times we live in and the reigning moral

mindset, we might have accused him of being Gay.

O wait, we have already done that through the latest controversy

in Joseph Lelyveld book on the Mahatma, wherein he is now a bisexual.

I am posting this to my lists too

Ought to raise some hackles and stimulate some grey cells
Most of us anyway don't use those and probably that's why
are easily brainwashed with whatever is dished out by the media.

Thank you Sirji,
