Kindly see the explanation given by Prashant Bhushan in a video of over 32 minutes at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJGuJYW5MZ8. As a seasoned lawyer, he has furnished very cogent arguments, in his defense. The factual aspect of his press interview can not be ignored in forensic examination of the CD.
He has cogently explained that in the "doctored CD" audio- files have been picked up from CD of a conversation that has been filed by him to Supreme Court. Facts stated by him should be examined in detail by technical experts.. Video tape of aforesaid press interview is on records; facts stated by him should be carefully examined.
With conflicting "expert opinions" about authenticity of the CD, more thorough scrutiny of facts stated by Shri Bhushan in the Press Conferences is needed. If he has stated wrong facts, he should face the legal consequences. On the other hand, facts stated by him are correct, police report should report the factual position, by commenting upon evidence furnished by him, in press conference.
Delhi police and Central Forensic Science Laboratory should not be seen as an instrumentality acting under the directions of political party in power. They should preserve their credibility, by examining all the facts on record. Police is expected to act like a professional body, without getting swayed by political implication of their findings.
