Dear Shri Samy,
There is considerable merit in the view point stated by you. "Decency" takes a back seat in mass movements like this where leaders find it difficult to control all the events and no such event can be perfect. Hooligans can join in people with good intentions; in practice it is difficult to differentiate between them.
Mass mobilisation was apparently the intention of Anna and his team; they have succeeded in it. Government may not have met their demands without this kind of mass support. Media found growing audience was this events and therefore all news channels had focus on it. Use of email, SMS, electronic media are the modern tools in the hands of persons organizing mass movements; they have made full use of them.
Any one breaking law may face punishments prescribed in law. Persons driving motorcycles with Anna cap in stead of prescribed helmets have been fined. Disrespect to national flag is an offense and persons indulging in it are liable to punishment.
With the hindsight, despite all the problems highlighted by you, in my opinion one should also look at positive side of it. The movement has generated awareness about corruption and Government can not afford to brush this issue under carpet, due to the massive public support generated by Anna and his team.

Dear Friends
Frankly speaking I am not a RTI activist. I am not a civil society activist either. I am not an intellet to argue and put forward my views on recent happenings over Anna Hazare's campaign against corruption.Just happened to see a mail sent by Shri Amitabh Thakur replying to one Shri. Dhirendra Krishna.
Every Indian wants to live in a corruption free India and unfortunately its become part and parcel of everybody's life. Anna stood for a common cause and somehow he won.
But all these days when the so called intellectuals, educationists, reformists, RTI
activists were showing their anger against the government and I had watched the arrogant attitudes of some of the civil society members. Crores of sms-es were
sent using derogotary words which one can ever think of. Yes these were sent by the so called civil society members or by their over enthusiastic supporters. Mails were sent with obscene pictures involving the political leaders namely the PM, Sonia, Kapil Sibbal
and Maneesh Tiwary etc.
I was wondering is these the value based principles which Shri Anna stands for ? All these 12 days of tamasha almost all channels were purely telecasting minute to minute details of his fast and behaved like cheer leaders and for that matter like an Advertising agencies of Shri Anna and his other society members. Their partisan attitude is really questionable. Several hooligns were riding on motorcycles waving National Flag up and down and too without helmets. Pickpockets and rogues had field day in Ram Lila ground. Liquor flowed liberally and hooligans hooted the ladies. Several youths openly claimed they didn't know what purpose the come for. Some of them coolly said they want to appear on the channels.
I was totally shocked when a former IPS officer knowingly or unknowingly waved a torn
National Flag which action brought disrespect to our National Flag. Is she really trained at Police academy. She spat venom at politicians and behaved like a street thug.
Yes.. she is also a member of civil society. When disrespect were shown to the National
Flag, these so called Civil society watched these uncivilised attitude of their supporters
at the so called agitation. Yes, these corrupt minded people corrupt the young mind and just to gain popularity they doomed to such a low level.
What's the fun of having a Jashan at India Gate. Again hooligans ruled the roost over there. Whenever Mahatma Gandhi undertook fast and when he realised when the crowd and supporters turned ugly immediately he used to end fasting. Alas.. the so called Messiah or hero as himself thundered know what his movement done great damage to the society ? Or as usual he simply ignored just because the publicity he got from the Media, especially the electronic Media. Is the change we were looking for ? What punishment will people like Kiran Bedi get for dis-honouring the National Flag ? Maximum punishment for showing disrespect to the National Flag I believe is 5 Years. Is this applies to former IPS officer like Kiran Bedi or else its just for the commoners.
