Lokpal Bills and the BBA resolution at the EOGM
At its Extraordinary General Meeting, the Association passed the following resolution:"IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that this House condemns all forms of corruption and supports the people's movement against corruption. This House also condemns any restraint on the right to non-violent protest."Given the confusion and many misdirections about the actual text of the two competing drafts of the Lokpal Bills, for the benefit of our members, we have made both drafts available online: The latest version of the Government's Lokpal Bill 2011 (Bill No.39 of 2011); and the Jan Lokpal Bill as of June 2011.PRS Legislative Research has prepared a helpful tabulated summary comparison of the two bills, and a more detailed summary of the government bill.Additional documents and materials are available on the Union Ministry of Personnel, Grievances and Pensions' website.
