No. U will be shocked to know that there was a metropolitan transport team  of planning commission which planned this flyover in 1965 and was to be completed by 1970. But as politicians and bureaucrats are busy in making money they keep delaying everything to get full juice by exerting more crush and hence delay of 40 years in this link road. In 40 years world has changed for better but India specially Mumbai has gone to doge. 


How I know abt MTT??? By dad's closest friend just like brother Shri Rameshchandraji Sharma was in this team and made several proposals for development of Mumbai. He was in planning commission, Delhi. For his planning he used to come to Mumbai and would stay with us. He would share these plans with us while chitchatting but whatever I heard from him nothing or very little has come up in Mumbai. 

I still have his email id/ and nos. ( though retired and old)  if some well known person from media would like to take his interview and let citizens of Mumbai know that all best plans have remained in files and money gone in scams and today IAS, commissioners, collectors,secretaries,tahsildar,talati  and others are having 1000 crore + in their coffers but we live in Pathetic condition. 

Some RTI activist can also get info from planning commission as to what were the plans for Mumbai. 

I appreciate ur good work of creating awareness abt govt apathy and sinister delays. 

I have been saying for years  that we must make small videos comparing Malaysia, China etc who have come up in last 25 yrs and where we stand. 

And they say India shining???? Shameless people.

Next 2 next Sunday, that is, 9th Oct. afternoon/evening plan to do documentation with photographs of present situation of work of Santcruz Chembur Link Road (SCLR) which had 6 extensions of completion date. Delayed by more than 4 years still about 30% work pending. On this day we, Citizen wish to complete first phase from WE highway till Kurla west tracks. If time permits from Kurla east till EE highway on same day or otherwise next subsequent Sunday. Those who wish to join, please confirm. Such documentation could be use to built extra pressure. Already some media people & concious citizens have confirmed their participation.

The reason my mail came to your box was because it goes to a Group called rti4emp.
Let me say,to begin with.I may dead against any personality cult-which is why I am against this Nehru-Gandhi family thinking it owns the country ,whereas this country has a democratic form of government.So THAT is what is wrong with ALL their privileges ,incl.SPG cover.It is nepotism and that is corruption,plain and simple.
I don't approve of Anna Hazare being given iconic status-but he is just the symbol,they say.I still do not approve.I also agree that other symbols of struggle such as Irom Sharmila,etc should be given importance.It is not true to say that Anna Hazare has not done any work-he has,and is a well-known social worker.I can't say I approve of all that expenditure either.I am adding Mayank Gandhi(BCC) and IAC,Pune to this discussin to answer that question.Maybe it was required.Maybe they an justify the expenditure yu speak of.

I just happened to see your mail in my mail box. I am not a RTI activist and not a
social reformist.

When people like Anna Hazare and others enjoys Z category protection ( till recently nobody in
India except a few from his own state don't know  who is this  man  )  what is the harm in Robert Vadra
getting spg protection.Why people like you getting hype over each and every issue.
Do you know that this Anna Hazare never conducted or never allowed Panchayat
election held in his own village for more than 20 years now.Did you people ever asked
for yourself who sponsored his so called fast at Ram Lila maidan and who called the Media
and who spend money for Banners, posters, topis ( jaise netalok yeh aadmi bhi hum sab
ko topi phenaya ) etc.How much money was spend for the entire tamasha? How could
any one compared this man with Mahatma ? What was his contribution in the army ?
How could one compare his media sponsored agitation with Freedom struggle ?
So many people observed fast. Like Nigamananda, Irom and so many others  for different
reasons. Why u people didn't come forward to support their struggle. Why did the
media totally ignored their agitation?

Think it over.

This is STUNNING. Look at Robert Vadra's name being included with President, PM, etc for automatic Airport clearances!!! Isnt this blatant misuse of power by Sonia family???





1. TATAs took 100 years to become billionaire, Ambanis took 50 years(after utilizing all its resources), where as Robert Vadra took less than 10 years to become fastest multi billionaire.

2. All newspapers are scared to discuss the story of Robert Vadra because of severe threat from Sonia Gandhi and Congress govt.

3. After Robert Vadra got married with Priyanka Gandhi, Robert's father committed suicide under mysterious circumstances, his brother found dead in his delhi residence and his sister found dead in mysterious car accident. These reports were not published in any Indian media.

4. He is having stakes in Malls in premier locations of India, he is having stakes in DLF IPL, and DLF itself. He was involved in CWG corruption - DLF was responsible for development of Commonwealth games, and Kalmadi gave favoritism to DLS because of Robert Vadra's direct interest and business partnership with DLF.

5. Robert Vadra owns many Hilton Hotels including Hilton Gardens New Delhi

6. Robert Vadra's association with Kolkata Knight Ryders has never been reported by Indian media

7. He has 20% ownership in Unitech, Biggest beneficiary ownership of 2G Scam. Because of Robert's involvement in this scam, there are concerns that investigation would never reach decisive conclusion

8. He owns prime property in India specially commercial hubs, and taxi business but for Air Taxi. He owns few private planes as well.

9. He has direct link with Italian businessman Quatrochi.

10. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has created a record of sorts by according special privilege to Robert Vadra, which entails him to walk in and out of any Indian airports without being subject to any security check. Only the President of India , Vice-President and a handful of other top dignitaries were accorded this rare distinction.

 

As a concerned citizen, I would like to know from the Government as to what was the special quality in Mr. Vadra that merited this rare honor. The government has no right to go in for such largesse that concerns with the security of the general public just for pleasing the son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi.

  

 WAKE UP FELLOW INDIANS ! FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION !!!!!!!

India's nationhood has been weakened since the anti-corruption protests took place, and it must now reshape itself.

The Indian government misunderstood the anti-corruption protests from the start says author [Reuters]

NEW DELHI - The September 7 bomb blast at the entrance to the High Court in New Delhi was a macabre finale to a summer of crisis. Previously, weeks of anti-corruption protests launched by Anna Harare, and supported by the country's rising middle class, had brought India's government to a virtual standstill. This was followed by an embarrassing surrender to the demand of protestors that a powerful new anti-corruption agency be established.

For some people, the protests that paralysed large swathes of the capital were akin to a festival. Others, following the government's retreat, grandiosely thought the events amounted to a revolution. To be sure, a large part of urban "middle India" has revolted against the tyranny of daily corruption. But will the Harare-led protests deliver real change or merely media hyperbole?

Whichever side one takes, the consequences are disturbing: Indian society, the core of Indian nationhood, is now questioning the very legitimacy of the Indian state. 

India's nationhood resides in a non-territorial civilisational entity. The Indian state, on the other hand, is a historical variable that has periodically governed parts of the subcontinent. Following independence in 1947, a centralised Indian state emerged for the first time. For citizens, the Indian state is the great provider - mai-baap, literally "mother and father."

The strength of Indian nationhood, however, lies not in this state but in Indian society. This idea was at the core of Gandhi's beliefs; he emphasised "reform of society," because only that, he believed, could correct the state's ills. Herein lies the central disconnect, and also the source of discontent, for today's India: if and when an Indian citizen now approaches this state, for even the most routine of needs, the state inflicts pain rather than providing succor.

The Indian state's fundamental inability to redress grievances, correct mistakes, and attend to its citizens' most basic needs has given rise to a ruinous level of corruption, as citizens, despairing of obtaining their due fairly, try to buy it instead. The state then turns into a monopoly seller, and thus an enemy of its own society.

For Anna Harare and his followers, the only solution is another state agency - a vast and all-powerful anti-corruption watchdog with the power to coerce and intimidate. Others call for a spiritual revival within Indian society.

It is no surprise, of course, that large crowds cheered for Harare and his anti-corruption movement, by which they assumed a vicarious role in slaying the demon of corruption. Their abuse was reserved for "evil parliamentarians" - or any politicians - as vile agents of a crooked state.

Unfortunately, India's government misunderstood the anti-corruption protests from the start. At first, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stood firm against Harare's demands on technical grounds. But this proved insufficient to halt a growing sense of drift and decay concerning his Congress Party-led coalition.

This sense of malaise was highlighted on India's Independence Day (August 15). Confronted by multiple charges of corruption against his government, the prime minister's address to the nation partly sought to divert attention from the scandals by focusing, bizarrely, on a litany of other problems, from high inflation and the Naxalite rebellion to persistent malnutrition and terrorist attacks. Yet the overriding theme remained corruption. And what else could it be? After all, the current government is possibly the most corrupt, in every sense, that India has ever experienced.

Were periodic elections the only yardstick of democracy, India would have achieved what US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calls the "gold standard." But that is far removed from reality and the nature of its ruling party. The Congress Party, to paraphrase Brown University's Richard Snyder, resembles a "neo-patrilineal dictatorship," in which "[p]eople get goodies for being close to the ruler." Proximity to the Gandhi family is everything.

Congress, at its core, pursues a form of dynastic democracy with the characteristics of a "Sultanistic regime" - a regime with no purpose or function apart from maintaining the "leader's personal authority." But, though such leaders perhaps have more personal authority than even medieval monarchs, their authority is brittle. Moreover, societies lose their cohesion under such regimes; they begin to lack a shared set of values, for they become relegated to living in "a belief vacuum."

There is another depressing aspect to the corruption debate. Both Singh and the US State Department helped spread the canard that foreign influence was at work behind the scenes. "External forces," Singh declared in Parliament, are trying to prevent India from taking "its true place" in the comity of nations. "We must not play into their hands," he intoned gravely.

Meanwhile, a State Department spokesperson urged India's authorities to act with "appropriate democratic restraint" in response to the crisis provoked by Harare's protests. This was an egregious bit of meddling. After all, non-violent protests are an Indian specialty

But Gandhi's yardstick for non-violent protest was satyagraha - "the protest of truth." By contrast, India's current anti-corruption protests may be missing the point, for the central challenge in fighting corruption is to establish a freedom born of righteous conduct, not to authorise a new source of state coercion. Indian society must regain its strength - and its proper role. Only when India, as the great poet Rabindranath Tagore put it, is a place "where the head is held high and the mind is without fear" will it be able to act with the confidence, honesty, and generosity its citizens demand and deserve.
