NRI and friends launch website which will get details under RTI Act without disclosing names of actual applicants

Do you want to get any details through the Right to Information (RTI) Act without disclosing your name? It is possible by visiting the website www.getup4change.org and requesting the information, which is given within 20 days. Thanks to Anand Sharma and his friends sitting in the US.
The website offers information about the Central and state governments. It was started by Sharma, a digital designer with Seagate Technology, Longment CO, USA. He had watched people struggling to get information through the RTI. Many were scared to mention their names in the application. In some cases, applicants simply gave up.
Sharma decided to remedy this situation. He got in touch with some friends and formed a 10-member team. On October 16, they launched the website.
Sharma told Bangalore Mirror, "We will not disclose the names of the applicants. Instead, we will apply for information through the RTI Act in our names. I want to do something for the nation. I supported and participated in Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement. I decided to launch this website after facing hurdles in getting information through RTI. The team is also fighting for Shehla Masood, an RTI activist based in Madhya Pradesh who was killed recently.
"The team members are based in various parts of the world. None of us are looking for personal benefit. We only want India to improve and prosper."
On the day of the launch, five people asked the team to get information. Sharma and other team members plan to visit India and visit various cities to educate people about the importance of the RTI Act and how to use it to get relevant information.
