| Friends, Two of my poems about two extremely inhuman, sordid and shameful events concerned with brutal rapes with small, innocent girls. In the first case in Kanpur, 11 year old Divya of class VI was raped by the son of her school's manager and then died. Justice eluded her for long as one of her neighbours was arrested on false charges of raping her and sent to jail. Only after a long ordeal, the real culprit was arrested. In the second case, another small girl Sheelu from Banda was held as hostage and raped by none other than an MLA, belonging at that time to the ruling party. Instead of getting her FIR registered, she herself was framed in a theft case. After a wide uproar, the MLA was finally sent to jail. I don't think there could be anything more grotesque, barbarous and disgusting than this, that too in today's world where we boast of so many Fundamental and Human Rights. ' One of these poems is a pathos while another is a satire. They are in Hindi and I could not translate them in English because of lack of sufficient linguistic skills.
