The Government of India is planning to set-up 250,000 telecentres (CSCs) at every village Panchayat in India by 2012. Apart from this, many NGOs, Social Enterprises are setting-up telecentres to bring change in rural villages. There is a need for 500,000 trained rural youths to manage these telecentres across India.
We are happy to inform you that the Centre for Extension Education (CEE), IGNOU has officially launched a new programme called `Certificate in Telecentre/ Village Knowledge Centre Management'. Some important information about the course is as follows:
Duration of the course: 6 Months to 2 Years
Eligibility: Those who have completed 10 + 2 class or Managers of telecentres run by organisations across the nation and the potential village level entrepreneurs
Fee: Rs. 4,000 (Four Thousand only)
Scholarship: Rs.1000 (One Thousands only)
Medium of Instruction: At present English, but likely to be available in other language(s) also.
Job Prospects: Common Services Centres of Government of India, Village Knowledge Centres, Village Resource Centres, NASSCOM Knowledge Network Centres, e-Choupals, KVKs, Drishtee, TARAhaat, etc.
Last Date for Submission: 15th February, 2011
