Effect of complaint of IG Zone Lucknow: Rs. 13,000 bribe money returned ?
I have been told that after my complaint to IG Zone Lucknow against incharge of OP Inhona, ps Shivratanganj in Amethi district about his extorting Rs. 15,000 from contractor Taj Mohammad alias Tajau for illegal felling of green tree in village Otia, the outpost incharge has returned back Rs. 13,000 to Tajau. He is said to have not returned Rs. 2,000 as being the unauthorized police rate for illegal felling per tree.
Nefees Khan of village Otia says that he had intimated ASP and SP Amethi about illegal felling of a green tree which resulted in no action being taken but instead the outpost incharge hiking the bribe rate from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 15,000, forcing a dejected Nafis to contact me.

I complained to IG Zone and had also enquired the matter on the spot after which the outpost incharge is said to have returned Rs. 13,000, at the same time asking Nafis and the Contractor to change their statements. This being definitely improper and serious, if it is true, having come to know of these developments, I have now written to DGP requesting to get the matter enquired.
