[rti4empowerment] Law entrance Age limit of LU challenged

Dear Friends,

The Bar Council of India has fixed 20 years as the upper age limit for 5 years and 30 years as upper age limit for 3 years L Lb courses through Clause 28 of Schedule III to Legal Education Rules, 2008. Lucknow University and its affiliated colleges have accordingly fixed the upper age limits for Law entrance.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court in Private Law Colleges, Hyderabad vs the Bar Council of India and others (Writ Petition No 6691/2009) has already suspended the operation of this clause 28.

Based on the above order, I have challenged before the Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench this fixation of upper age limit in Lucknow University. The Petition says that since the AP High Court order was directed against the Bar Council, hence it becomes operative all over the country and the Lucknow University shall also follow it.

The decision of the Allahabad High Court will have important bearing on admission seekers all over UP denied law admission on age limit basis.

Would request the concerned friends to respond please.
