BJP lost not because of "India Shining" but because of mismanagement of its erstwhile allies ..... Swithching to AIDMK from DMK, jetissoning of TDP, Biju Patnaik, TMC, etc., that were previously alligned with BJP. If you add the seats won by these parties.

Rabinder Ji, Your claim about building of the roads and opening up of the economy during the BJP's six year rule are questionable. The economy was opened by Dr Singh during  Narsimah Rao's regime.  There are, however,  other feathers in the cap of the BJP.

1. Nuclear explosion which instantly made not one but two nuclear neighbours.
2. Developed good relations with the USA
3. Dialogue with the Nuclear Supplier's Club and removal of nuclear pariah Status..
4. Last but not the least, the "India shinning" slogan.

Total BJP rule in India, with coalition was for 6 and half years. And not 10 years
50% 0f the roads were built under BJP rule.  Opening up of the Economy came under BJP rule. Corruption did not end, but it was not as rampant as under congress rule.

AAP has people like Binayak Sen, Yogendra Yadav, Prof Chenoy and other strong leftist and marxist persuasion. And they will lead Indian Economy to oblivion.

Has Congress removed poverty ( a slogan they gave 30 or 40 years ago), has Congress controlled inflation (an assurance they gave 10 years ago), has Congress stopped relegious riots (an implied promise made decades ago), did they provide water, toilets, schools, hospitals, etc. (promises they have been making since independence), did BJP make Ram Mandir (a promise made two decades ago), has BJP settled the Common Civil Code (a promise made decades ago), have all their states implemented a proper RTI LokPal Bill (as opposed to toothless stuff), etc., etc., etc., BOW-wow meeeeoooow too.
We may not agree with everything AAP says or does, but in their 1.5 months they have done more than what ALL governments put together did in 65 years. But more than anything else, these youngsters have shown us the possibility of an alternative way of doing politics as opposed to petty politiking and cheap back-biting. They have shown the possibility of greatly reducing corruption loot of the nation, ..... the WEALTH and RESOURCES THAT BELONGS TO YOU and ME.

If not up with AAP, then at least down with Cong-UPA, BJP-NDA, SP, DMK, NC, .... the entire lot.

Dr. Javed Jamil

Arvind Kejriwal has proved to be a master strategist. In my view, the shrewdest politician is one who makes the people believe that he is no politician. Relinquishing power in politics more often than not brings back greater power. Kejriwal has mastered the art of relinquishing for his grand objectives. First he "relinquished" his job for the "cause" of the people and became an activist that gave him greater power than he enjoyed as an employee. Then he "gave away" social activism to enter political activism and became Chief Minister. And now he has "sacrificed" his Chief Minister-ship again for the sake of the nation, which needs non-corrupt governance of his style. When I say this, it is not out of contempt but for admiration of his single-mindedness, courage and planning. Politics is no easy task; it requires clarity of aims coupled with ruthlessness. "Ruthlessness" may not sound good but if the aims are right, this helps.

It goes to the credit of Kejriwal that he realized the failure of his last Dharna on the issue of the refusal of the police to cooperate before it is too ate. His team seems to have correctly realized that in terms of popular perception, the last Dharna proved to be a failure. There were clear indications that AAP had started losing momentum that looked so overpowering in the wake of Delhi Assembly results. Kejriwal and Co needed to recapture the lost momentum. They knew pretty well that nothing could be better than the issue of Jan Lokpal to seize the initiative again. And this time, they have shrewdly linked it to the machinations of the corporate world, ensuring that till the election time, Ambanis will remain in the news – for the wrong reasons.

And this liking with the machinations of the corporate world is what has made me feel vindicated. I have been tirelessly campaigning against what I call "economic fundamentalism" and New World Order, particularly the role of the market forces for more than 15 years. In my latest articles on inflation and economic disparity that attracted huge interest on several internet forums, I highlighted the role of the corporate world. While others were busy invoking the classical theories of inflation and were trying to prove as if inflation was unavoidable, I showed how the corporates played a big role and need to be challenged. When AAP government filed FIR against Reliance, it brought focus on the role of the corporates in Inflation and Economic Disparity. When my document, "Muslim Vision of Secular India: Destination Roadmap" was released in May 2012, I had said in the presence of Mr. Salman Khurshid and Mr Salman Khan from the podium in the packed auditorium of India Islamic Cultural Centre: "Even if the Prime Minister had been present here, I would not have hesitated to say that the Government is run from the houses of Ambanis and Tatas and you ministers act as nothing but the minions of the corporates." I repeated the same in presence of Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar and Mr Rahman Khan when "Muslims Most Civilised, Yet not Enough" was released and added that "Democracy has been reduced to Corporatocracy meaning government of the corporates, run by the minions of the corporates and for the corporates." About 2 years back, I happened to be part of a TV debate in which Manish Sisodia was my co-panelist. Even then I had insisted that rooting merely the corruption in politics will not help unless the corruption in the corporate world is uprooted.  Hopefully, Kejriwal now builds up pressure on the forces of economics in his campaign.

But it is still unsure what will be the ultimate impact of Kejriwal's resignation on the poll scene. Latest opinion polls have shown that Modi has benefited greatly from the rise of AAP. Now AAP supporters are shouting "Dilli Sheela Haari Hai, Ab Modi ki baari hai". Will this slogan become a reality? Or will he make the road easier for Modi? The media of course will try to project Kejriwal as a failure who ran away from governance and received "shahadat" only for larger political aims. Now the corporate world will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that AAP damages Congress and not the BJP. The next few days will indicate which way the tide is going to turn. If he recaptures the momentum through some megarallies in Mumbai, Bangalore, Lucknow, Chennai and other major cities, the election scenario will become wide open again.
