Uttar Pradesh Right to Information rules dilute the very object of RTI act

There are several objectionable clauses in Uttar Pradesh Right to Information (UP RTI) rules 2015 , But most dangerous clause is 13 (3) that categorically says that " The proceedings pending before the Commission on any complaint or appeal shall abate on the death of the complainant or appellant, as the case may be. This is not only threat to RTI applicants but it is also dangerous for entire RTI act -http://goo.gl/ZAB6CO

Big question mark on new appointments of state information commissioners in Maharashtra

Move to challenge administrative tribunal's order in the High Court has put a big question mark on new appointments of state information commissioners in Maharashtra.In an interesting development Government of Maharashtra who had opposed the petition on appointments of State information commissioners in the High court stating that the petitioner had remedy of filing original application before the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal (MAT) for the relief as prayed for in the writ petition, has now filed a writ petition ( 11623/2015) in high court stating MAT has no jurisdiction to try such cases.- http://goo.gl/omgZub

लखनऊ/10 जनवरी 2016/कल दिनांक 11 जनवरी 2016 को 4 बजे सायंकाल लखनऊ के सामजिक संगठन येश्वर्याज सेवासंस्थान की सचिव और सामाजिक कार्यकत्री उर्वशी शर्मा के नेतृत्व में 5 सदस्यीयप्रतिनिधिमंडल उत्तर प्रदेश के राज्यपाल राम नाईक से भेंटवार्ता करेगा. उर्वशी ने बताया किउनके संगठन की ओर से किये गए लिखित अनुरोध पर राज्यपाल ने यूपी के आरटीआईकार्यकर्ताओं की समस्याओं पर वार्ता हेतु कल शाम 4 बजे मिलने का समय दिया है.उर्वशी ने बताया कि कल उनके साथ जाने वाले प्रतिनिधिमंडल में आरटीआई कार्यकर्तातनवीर अहमद सिद्दीकी,अधिवक्ता रुवैद अहमद किदवई और बहराइच के मृत आरटीआईकार्यकर्ता गुरु प्रसाद के परिवारीजन शामिल रहेंगे. उर्वशी ने बताया किवे राज्यपाल से आरटीआई कार्यकर्ताओं की हत्याओं के मामले में मुआवजा न दिए जाने,सूचनाआयुक्तों की अक्षमता, सूचना आयुक्तों द्वारा आरटीआई कार्यकर्ताओं का उत्पीडन कियेजाने और राज्य सरकार द्वारा गैरकानूनी ढंग से आरटीआई नियमावली बनाने समेत आरटीआईकार्यकर्ताओं की समस्याओं के विभिन्न मुद्दों पर राज्यपाल से चर्चा करेंगी. समाजसेवी तनवीर अहमदसिद्दीकी ने बताया कि हमारा प्रतिनिधिमंडल राज्यपाल से भेंट के उपरांत राजभवन केबाहर ही मीडिया को संबोधित भी करेगा.
