Petition for complete open sale ban of Red/Blue beacon
I today filed a writ petition along with wife Nutan for complete banning of public sale and purchase of beacon lights used in vehicles has been filed in the Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench.
It asks for directing the Union and the State government to ensure that no beacon light shall be bought or sold in open market and all such beacon lights shall be provided only by the concerned government agencies, such that it becomes completely government controlled and there is a complete check on the use of the beacon lights and the possibilities of its misuse get almost eliminated.
The petition says that many IAS, IPS and other officers are also found using beacon lights without being authorized so and hence prays that other than acting against the vehicle or the driver, appropriate disciplinary action shall also be against all such Government servant whose private or government vehicle uses unauthorized beacon light.
