I feel really happy to let friends know that the Hon'ble Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench today sought reply from the State government within 4 weeks about my Writ for Unified UP Police Association.
The Bench consisting of Hon'ble Justice Devi Prasad Singh and Hon'ble Justice Ashok Pal Singh gave this order in my challenging the Government Order dated 15 October 2013 whereby the State government refused permission for formation of a Unified Police Association without assigning any reasons for such refusal and declared IPS Association to be legally permissible.
As per the Petition, the State Government has declared that IPS and PPS officers are not "Police Officers" and hence they don't need permission to form their Association, while Police Act 1861 and Para 397 of UP Police Regulations seem to state that IPS and PPS officers are police officers.
I have now been associated with this cause for around 2 years and things seem to be slowly moving to the final destination.
