Maharashtra State Electricity Board has proposed to increase the Electricity Bill all over Maharashtra by approximately 18%.
But there are various flaws in the System which are not Completely acceptable. The reason that the Govt is giving is Fabricated.
Various activists all over Maharashtra are opposing this move. In Pune, a group "Sajag Nagrik Manch" has taken up this issue and will meet the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission and urge them to withdraw the proposed Tariff Hike.
India Against Corruption – Pune will be supporting them and requests all the citizens of Pune to support them and raise your voice against the Unjust Tariff Hike.
What can you do ?
You can do 2 things :
1) The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) will be holding a Public Hearing on this issue on 25th July in Pune. You can attend with your friends and convince the authorities that this is not acceptable to us. The authorities will be forced to withdraw the decision.

2) "Sajag Nagrik Manch" has already drafted a letter to be presented to the Commission. All we need is maximim number of Signatures supporting it. You can atleast collect as many signatures as you can from your society, workplace,etc. and send the signatures sheets to the below mentioned address via post or handover it in person :

-- महावितरणाच्या ८.३९ लाख ग्राहकांनी आजवर एकदाही वीज बील भरलेले नाही व ती थकबाकी रु.१९४८ कोटी ची आहे. ही थकबाकी वसूल करण्याऐवजी प्रामाणिकपणे वीज बील भरणाऱ्या ग्राहकांवर दरवाढ का ?
-- वसूली करण्यात अपयशी ठरलेल्या महावितरणाच्या कर्मचाऱ्यांच्या पगारात ४४% ची वाढ होणार आहे. यासाठी आपल्या बिलात का वाढ करावी ?
-- Commercial वीज (दुकान, कंपनी, कारखाने) वापरणाऱ्यांसाठी कमी दरवाढ पण सामान्य ग्राहकांसाठी जास्त प्रमाणात दरवाढकरण्यात येत आहे.
-- काही उपकरणे कमी दर्जाच्या घेतली जातात. त्यामुळे काही उपकरणे लवकर खराब होतात तर काहींवर मेंटेनन्सचा खर्च वाढतो. हा सर्व नुकसान भरून काढण्यासाठी वीज दरात वाढ केली जाते. जे आपल्याला भरावे लागते.
