The reports in the media that Jung has suggested an invitation to BJP to form government in Delhi is distressing. Not only because it is unethical, but because it goes to show that the BJP is B team of Congress. Congress used to call for white papers, BJP wants blueprint; BJP has removed an honest officer from AIIMS, much in the style of Mr. Hooda or Haryana; it has degraded the powers of the Delhi Vigilance so that it cannot initiate criminal actions against the powerful; it seeks power at any price, exactly like the Congress. And the already degraded Lokpal is being diluted further to benifit the babus and politicians, who are generally not exactly known for performance or even good behaviour.
100 days would ordinarily have been too little time to judge BJP, but the start is not auspicious.
Still, let us hope for another month or two (only).
