Sadequain – An immortal artist
Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi was the Amroha born world-renowned Pakistani artist who was a skilled painter, an expert muralist , an innovative calligrapher, a poet par excellence but above all a decent human being and gentleman. He is considered to be one of the finest painters and calligraphers Pakistan can boast of. He was highly prolific and is reported to have painted over 15,000 pieces, comprising of gigantic murals, figurative art, drawings, calligraphy works besides composing several thousand pieces of poetry. He gave a new form and meaning to calligraphy and created his own style known as Khat – e – Sadequain which in a way has become the identity of the Pakistani art.
