MCGM
Namaskar,
Reference the orders as reported in 2012 NOV by your office
And detailed below
You may or may not know, but far from being implemented, it is flouted at Andheri West by all concerned.
Not only that, K West Ward has not only not followed your instructions, but have a Solid Waste Management chowkie within 100 m of MA High School, and exactly at the entry point to Andheri West station, resulting in
01 Large numbers of huge MCGM garbage compactors moving around there, and even going against traffic, being driven recklessly and rashly, as well as drivers blowing the horns in silence zones, creatin noise pollution, next to the school and nearby residential areas, the horns themselves sound shrill meaning they are illegal as per CMVR.
These are really large vehicles, and can cause real damage in case of accident.
A few years ago, there was a major accident involving such a vehicle at Lallubhai Park area, but the drivers are still callous and carefree
02 These vehicles are all parked in what are clearly demarcated no parking zones, thereby violating traffic rules, as well as blocking the road to the station, and causing great difficulty for pedestrians
03 The smell and odour of the solid waste make for a very bad welcome to the station in the morning, and whole day, with the added obstacle course for the public to walk carefully between these parked giant vehicles, and the oncoming unregulated traffic of BEST buses, racing auto rikshas private vehicles, two wheelers and MCGM dumpers, water tankers going wrong way, etc
04 Out sourced MCGM MCV are also regularly parked there, almost all of them registered outside MH 01, MH 02, MH 03
05 The foot path, or whatever it is supposed to be, outside MA High School perimeter on MA Road side, is full of construction material, construction office and storage cabins, pavement dwellers, debris, and other obstacles which prevent, obviously, the pedestrians and school children from using the foot path.
On the Western side of the foot path, the MTP traffic chowkie has occupied it with two wheelers which were towed away.
The MCGM vehicles as above, contract buses, water tankers, garbage compactors, all parked in no parking, double parked, triple parked, BEST buses blocking the carriage way are not seen, no action
06 All this, while the area is declared a no entry to heavy vehicles zone from 2009 OCT, and this order has not yet been revoked.
But it is all futile, because it was never implemented.
And neither is the order to regulate the water tankers, which also are driven recklessly and rashly.
Are we living in a lawless land, or is there some law and order.
Kindly do the needful that your orders are implemented, not merely reported in the newspapers, because these heavy vehicles, 20000 litre water tankers, 20 tonne garbage compactors, are not only a nuisance, and menace, but a real and present danger to all other road users of the area.
There are any number of smaller water tankers, and LCV or MCV garbage vehicles in MCGM SWM fleet that can be used in such small roads and residential areas.
Thanqx.
