[rti4empowerment] Why Candidature for Assembly elections

 

Friends, I have decided to be an Independent candidate for the Lucknow East seat in forthcoming assembly election in UP in 2012. I shall content the election as my attempt to present the democratic way of electioneering. My election campaign will be through spending minimum amount of money, that too generated from public support. For me winning or losing election in Lucknow East would not matter but the attempt to make the democratic process seem like what it shall actually be will matter more. With no political background and no political support, I shall be there in Assembly election at Lucknow East because I have an important point to present. I think we need to come in more numbers to prove the point that election is not only for moneyed people, but common persons can and must contest elections. I shall be uploading a website where I shall be presenting details of all the income and expenditure for the election process from the beginning till its end Let many people laugh at me for my way of contesting election, yet I shall be there because I feel that politics is not only for us to preach and discuss from side-lanes but to be actually a part of it. This is only a beginning for me and I shall need and request all kinds of support from those of u who agree with my point of view.
