Sir;I agree that we should not split hair. The reason I had to point out 6 yrs 8 months, is because your 10 years gave impression of two full terms. On the other hand if we wanted to round it off, it should be closer to 5 years or one term. That was the rational for pointing it. But i agree, that we should not split hair.Sir, regarding AAP I have raised the issue of the brains behind AAP politics and ideology if left to extreme left. It is worst than Nehru's perspective. They will adopt highly draconian, populist, socialist agendas. Earlier, VP Singh had also started his 'Corruption Hatao" movement against Rajiv Gandhi. The hot topic in corruption was Bofors Scandal. His movement took had lot of popular following. In his gatherings, he would always take paper out of his pocket, claiming that this pa[er has the names of all the people in that mega scandal. But he never disclosed it, came to power and rest is history. The corruption cannot be the sole agenda to form Government, and will not change Corruption. Corruption issue has seeped in too our every aspect of life. Its removal will take lots of efforts, and not just sloganeering. Like C P Singh, he also claimed that Sheila Dixit is guilty and he knows it. But during the fifty days he was in power, when asked, as to why he has not initiated action against Sheila Dixit, he asked for the proof against her her corruption. It really reminds on of VP Singh tactics.Last but not the least, I personally think, that behind AAP is detailed planning by the left groups. Left knows that they are effectively done within India now, so this may be their attempt to grab power in a different grab. Otherwise, I can not see why so many leaders are from Naxalites, and Marxists, and the left. And some of them who were part of Sonia's NAC.However, I agree that politics and give. must be cleaned. Communits have never been able to do it, they in fact through the control process have encouraged corruption, almost everywhere they came to Power.Ravindra Koulअस्मद्रूपसमाविष्ठ: स्वात्मनात्मानिवारणेशिव: करोतु निजया नम: शक्त्या ततात्मने

The idea being discussed is at strategic / conceptual level ...... it would broadly take into account the governments of Mr. Vajpayee (incidentally, the best India has had), the various state governments & MCD run by BJP - NDA.No one disputes the huge progress made under Mr. Vajpayee. Actually, in my estimation, had it not been for his government, India would have been finished by now. But it is not the roads that matter, although they are imporatant too, but the conceptual changes brought in, such as dis-investment of public sector companies (governments are not there to run business, but to govern), overhaul / reforms in banking, taxes, administration, pensions, etc. under highly competent ministers like Mr. Yashwant Sinha, Mr. Shourie, the electricity minister, etc. Unfortunately, the promised overhaul of administration could not be implemented because he was not re-elected, and the law ministry was a total disaster of non-performance.The emergence of AAP is to be seen in the opportunity to reform the run-away delinquent corrosive politics of corruption, sloth, misuse of state, virtual absence of justice, loot of public resources, absence of accountability (except in law books and in putrid uttrances like "law will take its own course", etc. It is not important whether they are an amalgam of many colours and hues, they have said many times that they dont care for "left" or "right", but only for solutions to our many problems. It is not important to like or vote for them, but it is important for us to demand changes in the culture of loot and unaccountability from those we do vote for. 65 years of poverty, hunger, illeteracy, unemployment, exploitation are too long a period of time.VictorVictor

Arvind Kejriwal's masterstroke: Can it turn the Election Scene upside down? They knew pretty well that nothing could be better than the issue of Jan Lokpal to seize the initiative again. And this time, they have shrewdly linked it to the machinations of the corporate world, ensuring that till the election time, Ambanis will remain in the news – for the wrong reasons.Dr. Javed JamilArvind Kejriwal has proved to be a master strategist. In my view, the shrewdest politician is one who makes the people believe that he is no politician. Relinquishing power in politics more often than not brings back greater power. Kejriwal has mastered the art of relinquishing for his grand objectives. First he "relinquished" his job for the "cause" of the people and became an activist that gave him greater power than he enjoyed as an employee. Then he "gave away" social activism to enter political activism and became Chief Minister. And now he has "sacrificed" his Chief Minister-ship again for the sake of the nation, which needs non-corrupt governance of his style. When I say this, it is not out of contempt but for admiration of his single-mindedness, courage and planning. Politics is no easy task; it requires clarity of aims coupled with ruthlessness. "Ruthlessness" may not sound good but if the aims are right, this helps. It goes to the credit of Kejriwal that he realized the failure of his last Dharna on the issue of the refusal of the police to cooperate before it is too ate. His team seems to have correctly realized that in terms of popular perception, the last Dharna proved to be a failure. There were clear indications that AAP had started losing momentum that looked so overpowering in the wake of Delhi Assembly results. Kejriwal and Co needed to recapture the lost momentum. They knew pretty well that nothing could be better than the issue of Jan Lokpal to seize the initiative again. And this time, they have shrewdly linked it to the machinations of the corporate world, ensuring that till the election time, Ambanis will remain in the news – for the wrong reasons. And this liking with the machinations of the corporate world is what has made me feel vindicated. I have been tirelessly campaigning against what I call "economic fundamentalism" and New World Order, particularly the role of the market forces for more than 15 years. In my latest articles on inflation and economic disparity that attracted huge interest on several internet forums, I highlighted the role of the corporate world. While others were busy invoking the classical theories of inflation and were trying to prove as if inflation was unavoidable, I showed how the corporates played a big role and need to be challenged. When AAP government filed FIR against Reliance, it brought focus on the role of the corporates in Inflation and Economic Disparity. When my document, "Muslim Vision of Secular India: Destination & Roadmap" was released in May 2012, I had said in the presence of Mr. Salman Khurshid and Mr Salman Khan from the podium in the packed auditorium of India Islamic Cultural Centre: "Even if the Prime Minister had been present here, I would not have hesitated to say that the Government is run from the houses of Ambanis and Tatas and you ministers act as nothing but the minions of the corporates." I repeated the same in presence of Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar and Mr Rahman Khan when "Muslims Most Civilised, Yet not Enough" was released and added that "Democracy has been reduced to Corporatocracy meaning government of the corporates, run by the minions of the corporates and for the corporates." About 2 years back, I happened to be part of a TV debate in which Manish Sisodia was my co-panelist. Even then I had insisted that rooting merely the corruption in politics will not help unless the corruption in the corporate world is uprooted. Hopefully, Kejriwal now builds up pressure on the forces of economics in his campaign. But it is still unsure what will be the ultimate impact of Kejriwal's resignation on the poll scene. Latest opinion polls have shown that Modi has benefited greatly from the rise of AAP. Now AAP supporters are shouting "Dilli Sheela Haari Hai, Ab Modi ki baari hai". Will this slogan become a reality? Or will he make the road easier for Modi? The media of course will try to project Kejriwal as a failure who ran away from governance and received "shahadat" only for larger political aims. Now the corporate world will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that AAP damages Congress and not the BJP. The next few days will indicate which way the tide is going to turn. If he recaptures the momentum through some megarallies in Mumbai, Bangalore, Lucknow, Chennai and other major cities, the election scenario will become wide open again.* Dr Javed Jamil is a thinker and writer with over a dozen books including his latest, "Muslim Vision of Secular India: Destination & Road-map", "The Devil of Economic Fundamentalism", "The Essence of the Divine Verses", "The Killer Sex", "Islam means Peace" and "Rediscovering the Universe".
