Sir / Ma'am,

Prayer/Relief Sought: Kindly immediately stop the indiscriminate sanctioning of the Central JNNURM funds by the Government of India (GoI) as they (funds) are repetitively / repeatedly and progressively destroying and deforesting the Indian cities through the execution of unwanted / unnecessary / needless and environment unfriendly projects like flyovers, underpasses / subways and Signal Free Corridors (SFCs) as the politicians, public / government servants and contractors unfortunately seem / appear to be in a tearing hurry to utilize the JNNURM funds before the expiry of the deadline. Bangalore City and Mysore City are the two specific examples / instances where the JNNURM funds have unfortunately made them resemble / look like war ravaged cities / deserts wherever these so-called development / developmental / infrastructure projects are being taken up. A detailed inquiry of all the awards won by the BBMP and other civic bodies for the execution of JNNURM projects is badly needed The unwanted and high controversial Tagore Circle Underpass Construction Project (TCUCP) is seemingly in blatant violation of most of the following Rules, Acts and Policies 01) Rule 6 (Construction of other structures in the parks, play fields and open spaces) of The Karnataka Parks, Play-fields and Open Spaces (Preservation and Regulation) Rules, 1985. 02) Sections 2(f), 2(g), 2(h), 6, 7 and 8 of The Karnataka Parks, Play-Fields and Open Spaces (Preservation and Regulation) Act, 1985 (141 KB, 6 Pages) 03) Section 4 of The Karnataka Government Parks (Preservation) Act, 1975 – 100 KB, 03 Pages 04) Section 39 of The Karnataka Urban Development Authorities Act, 1987 - 450 KB, 36 Pages 05) The Karnataka Preservation of Trees Act, 1976 - 319 KB, 20 Pages 06) Clause 18 of Section 58 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations (KMC) Act, 1976 07) Blatant violation of the Delhi High Court Order Court asks civic agencies to free trees of concrete 08) Sections 3 & 4 of The Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 – 34.5 KB, 07 Pages 09) The Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act, 1961 – 856.3 KB, 84 Pages 10) National Urban Transport Policy – 242.9 KB, 22 Pages 11) Violation of National Policy for Urban Street Vendors – 17.1 MB, 22 Pages |
