Your attention is drawn to the water supply in Mumbai and Brihan Mumbai.
As per MCGM, the monsoon was normal, maybe better than normal this year,2010.
In that case, the Citizens of Mumbai would like to get the following information, because the proliferation of authorised / unauthorised water tankers all over Mumbai without any regulation whatsoever, gives the distinct impression that there is a drought situation within a few weeks of the monsoon 2010.

01 Water supply in all administrative wards of MCGM and by private water tanker suppliers
02 Use of private dumpers and trucks, and other LCV / MCV / HCV, which are registered out of Mumbai, ie Thane, Navi Mumbai, Palghar, Kalyan, Dombivili, Panvel, etc., being hired on MCGM duty
03 Random and haphazard and dangerous parking of such public goods carriers and others, on public roads in total disregard to trafiic rules and regulations

01 What is the quantity / amount of water in litres per day, supplied by each administrative WardWater Department to ward citizens who are supplied by water by MCGM
02 Is the water supply to the each such administrative Ward adequate for all the citizens supplied by MCGM
03 In case it is not sufficient, is the the Ward Water Department making efforts to supply waterby other means, ie,water tankers on MCGM duty, to where there is shortage
04 Which are the specific and chronic societies / hospitals / institutions / hotels / shopping malls, etc., and by how much quantity in litres per day, which are not getting sufficient and adequate MCGM water supply as per otherwise approved quantity in storage, etc., by MCGM, and how are these being supplied by MCGM, in litres per day
05 In case there is shortage, is MCGM supplying water to private water supply contractors from MCGM valves / mains to supply those in short supply
06 How many valves / mains of MCGM are being used to supply private water tankers, and the exact location thereof, and how many litres per day do these fill in how many tankers
07 How many companies / agencies are authorised to supply / sell municipal water, and on what basis were these so authorised, and at what rates, and a list of all these along with their addresses and contact information
08 Are these companies / agencies registered / licensed to supply / sell municipal water supplied from MCGM valves / main
09 How much water in litres per day, is being supplied / sold to these companies, and how many vehicles are used by these companies, and does MCGM keep a record of these for security purposes, if not, why not, and from what time to what time are these valves / mains open
10 Are these private water supply contractors 'selling' water to consumers at same rate as that charged by MCGM to them, and are these on MCGM duty, and if so, why are they not so distinctly marked
11 In case these private water suppliers are supplying, 'selling' MCGM water at higher rates, what prevents MCGM itself to 'sell' the same water at the market rates to the same consumers
12 In case of water shortage, why is MCGM supplying water to private water suppliers
13 Are the water tanker vessels / pipes, hoses, valves checked for
cleanliness / hygiene by MCGM, and how regularly and frequently, and is the water safe for drinking after transportation in unsealed water tankers
14 What is MCGM doing to ensure the water supplied by private water tankers reaches the consumer in 'sealed' condition, and does MCGM certify the potability and quality of the water supplied by private water suppliers
15 What is the MCGM doing to caution consumers about the potable / non potable water supplied by private water suppliers from MCGM valves / mains
16 At what rate is MCGM water sold to private water suppliers, and what rate is charged by private water suppliers to consumers
17 Is the sale price regulated by MCGM since water is an essential
commodity, and this water supplied from MCGM water sources but in effect sold by private water suppliers, even though they only 'charge for transportation', is neither treated, softened, packaged or in any other way value added or branded
18 Do water tankers, have any special concessions to not follow traffic rules while they ply on Mumbai's roads, and what are the terms and conditions for them to operate
19 What is MCGM doing to effectively regulate these private water tankers so that the owners and drivers adhere to the basic traffic rules and do not break any while plying, while waiting, while filling, while unloading, and if MCGM passes on the responsibility to the MTP, then what specific requests by MCGM have been given to the MTP on this account
20 Is MCGM aware that most water tankers are registered outside Mumbai, ie MH 04, MH 43, etc., and does MCGM have the records of these vehicles for security and other reasons, and whether MCGM is losing revenue on entry, wheel, and other taxes for these outstation registered water tankers, which
spend almost all their time in Mumbai all year round for years together for this business of making money selling municipal water
21 Is MCGM aware that the same applies to almost all dumpers, contract buses, and other public vehicles which are plying in the suburbs, using and parking on Mumbai's roads, without giving MCGM the due revenue
22 How many vehicles are on MCGM duty which are registered outside Mumbai limits, and the list of these, with separate list for those on garbage collection duty like compactors
23 How much are these vehicles / operators paid by MCGM to be on MCGM duty and on what basis
24 Where are these vehicles parked while on off duty, and waiting for filling, etc.
25 Are such vehicles permitted to park any where, double park, park in wrong direction, and move in the wrong way against traffic, etc., in short break traffic rules, in which case, the specific GR or orders to the effect
26 How much revenue is the MCGM losing per year since 1998 on account of such outstation vehicles
27 How much revenue does MCGM generate from parking charges of public goods vehicles parked on roads in all administrative wards of MCGM, and the detailed information thereof
